Statistics & Probability Unit
UNIT OBJECTIVES: From New Illinois Mathematics Standards
Scatter Plots & Bivariate Data:
Two-Way Tables
Scatter Plots & Bivariate Data:
- Construct and interpret scatter plots. Describe patterns as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, and linear or non-linear association.
- Know that straight lines are widely used to model relationships between two quantitative variables.
- Use the equation of a linear model to solve problems in the context of bivariate data, interpreting slope and intercept.
Two-Way Tables
- Understand that patterns of association can also be seen by displaying a two-way table.
- Construct and interpret two-way tables along with summarizing data.
